Talamasca: The Secret Order Official Trailer Review

Wow, I was already intrigued by the synopsis we got so far for this story, but now I’m wondering why Guy’s mother’s name would be in Daniel Molloy’s book?

Talamasca: The Secret Order Official Trailer Review

Are we talking Interview with the Vampire? Or one of Daniel’s past books written under Armand’s distant mind control with implanted memories? That single line alone opens up so much potential for the story.

Then we still have yet to hear from Ciprien Grieve and Lasher/St. Ashlar’s Taltos children (or what happened to Emaleth and the lone child she escaped with in Scotland) that were taken at the end of The Mayfair Witches Season 2. I know Daniel and Raglan James will be on the show based on official information released by AMC, but surely we’ll get some crumbs about Ciprien after Albrecht’s betrayal is revealed, right?

I wonder if Raglan’s story will follow The Vampire Chronicles novels, and his character will reappear (as well) in IWTV Season 3: The Vampire Lestat?

Anywho, shifting back to the Talamasca Season one trailer, why does Helen see nothing wrong with being a (presumably) English woman running the Talamasca New York Motherhouse, when Jasper is apparently suspicious because he is an American who has “quickly assumed” control of the London Motherhouse?

I read somewhere that the London Motherhouse was the original organization’s HQ? Unless I misread that somewhere online while doing a deep dive on The Vampire Chronicles series lore.

Based on the aforementioned synopsis that the Talamasca had been monitoring Guy Anatole since childhood due to his gift (a form of telepathy?) it tracks for the seemingly self-serving organization with overly-ambitious agents to approach Guy when he’s struggling to find a job just before graduating law school when the agency (or Helen) just needs to replace an agent who had a near death experience due to one of the Talamasca’s adversaries.

I say this alone by Raglan’s demeaner in the Dubai café while speaking to Daniel in IWTV, Fake Rashid being…well, fake, Samuel Beckett/Samuel Barclay being a shady playwright and agent, Ciprien Grieve in The Mayfair Witches being sent to “monitor” Rowan’s awakening powers only to “fall in love” with her due to Lasher’s thrall, and ending up as an unwitting pawn in Albrecht and Julian Mayfair’s scheme to rebirth and then kill Lasher.

Not to mention the one or two Talamasca agents that also fell in love with a Mayfair witch and were killed by Lasher – their souls still stuck in that New Orleans home to this day.

Can you tell how much I dislike the Talamasca organization already? Haha.

I am so excited to see where the story goes from here, and what other spiderwebs will weave, connect, and form with other works within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe.

But, tell me your thoughts: will we get any of The Mayfair Witches Talamasca agents as unannounced and surprise crossover characters in the Talamasca series?

Why do you think Guy Anatole’s mother was initially killed?
